Astrum Recruitment - Engineering and Manufacturing Recruitment Specialist

Astrum Recruitment was born out of an unprecedented 2020 when the Coronavirus pandemic shook the world as we knew it. The impact of this has led me (and so many of us) to re-evaluate our lives and the plans for our futures.

As a result, I have seen this as an opportunity to take control of my own destiny and start my own company – Astrum Recruitment, specialising in recruiting professionals to the Engineering and Manufacturing industries.

I began my recruitment journey over 20 years ago when I joined Hays Montrose (Property & Construction) in Newcastle upon Tyne. Hays Plc was one of the leading names in recruitment and an ideal place for me to build the foundation of my recruitment career.

After progressing to Branch Manager (Sheffield) and spending 6 very enjoyable years, I felt that the next career step lay outside Hays and was offered the opportunity to join another leading name in recruitment - Michael Page, as one of the Engineering and Manufacturing team. This role also allowed me to return to my East Midlands roots as one of the team in the newly opened Nottingham office. After a number of successful years at Michael Page I changed my career direction and moved into Medical Device sales where I further developed my sales skills and was able to appreciate and enjoy completely different industry.

I was given the opportunity to return to recruitment, and in 2017 joined ATA Recruitment, back in Engineering and Manufacturing. ATA was an excellent company to work for.

Fast forward to 2020 which has been a year of change, and now Astrum Recruitment, where I can focus on key elements of recruitment that I love; changing people’s lives for the better and building successful and long-term relationships with candidates who become my clients and clients who might become candidates.

I have no doubt this will be a challenge, but it’s a challenge I am very excited about. I believe in what I do and the value of what I do. I also believe that Astrum Recruitment will become a name synonymous with quality, and as a specialist recruiter for Engineering and Manufacturing roles.
